OK, let’s say you’ve written a page or a couple of pages of copy and you want to slim your word count down.
Here’s what you need to do.
1. Clearly see it
Copy and paste what you’ve written into a fresh Word document.
Make your font size bigger and add in more paragraph returns (this gives you more white space on the page).
2. Use simple, brief paragraphs
Put each key piece of information into a simple, one or two sentence paragraph.
You can also use bullet points.
3. Edit it down
Review all your wording and take out any unnecessary or repeated information.
Slim down each paragraph further where possible and then put these into the best order.
4. Have a last check
Have a read through and make any final changes, if you need to.
